Plaza Record Release on Viare Records

inspiration music plaza

Sometimes, when it's slow at the store, we like to scour the web for new music and the latest releases. Today, we've had one dropped in our laps from Revolver's very own Johan. He goes by the moniker PLAzA on the new Viare EP compilation on Voltaire Records. Alongside artists Jonas Reinhardt, Roche, and Tim Fairplay the EP skirts the lines of classic underground house (UntssUntssUntssUntss) and spacey disco dance music. Check out the Voltaire Records Soundcloud page for promotional mixes by PLAzA and label head Randy Hotthobo Ellis. Local SF producer Beat Broker also offers up a nice remix of the Jonas Reinhardt track "Virgo Cluster" on XLR8R. And check...

Voyager Pop-Up: Groove Merchant

Cool Chris Groove Merchant music Press: Works on Paper records

Some of us here at Revolver/Voyager are HUGE RECORD NERDS. Nothing can be more satisfying than spending hours digging in crates till the tips of our fingers turn dusty black. 45's, 10", 12" and those hard-to-find out of print titles that you can't believe you spent half your paycheck on because you just "had to have it." Owner Cool Chris and his...

Revolver is super excited to carry a new line of jewelry in the shop: Brickhouse Metalworks, the creation of Sonni Brickhouse. Sonni is/was based out of Athens, Georgia, but has recently embarked on a transcontinental adventure that has brought about new inspirations, techniques and collaborations. She took the time to tell us about her work and the voyaging she's been enjoying. Stop by Revolver to check out her goods. How did you come to be interested in jewelry design/making? Are you formally trained?  I started making jewelry in Valdosta, Georgia. It's very far south in GA. I was formally trained...

You Must Create

2012 English Inspiration menswear music sneakers

Started in 1995, You Must Create is an English label with two eponymous shops in London. Drawing on diverse sources of inspiration, YMC creates beautiful and bold clothing for the chic and cheeky set. Their designs are clean, a bit vintage inspired, a bit workwear inspired, a bit outdoorsy, and decidedly fun. YMC's designer, Jody Fraser, answered a few questions for Revolver about his processes and inspirations, past and current.    In your "About" section on the website, you've included the sentence "YMC were and will always be defined as much by what they are against as what they are for." This...
