Daily Inspiration: Revolver Photographique

The Revolver Photographique (Thompson’s Revolver Camera) was manufactured in Paris, France in 1862. Brass pistol-shaped camera with scope, wooden pistol grip, but no barrel - the camera takes four 23mm diameter exposures in rapid succession on a 7.5 cm circular wet plate.

Developed as one of the first sequential cameras to shoot planetary movements, the camera is seen as the precursor to the movie camera!
